Day 1 – Arrival in Antananarivo
Arrival in Antananarivo and transfer to your hotel. Meet your guide and receive a full tour briefing. Depending on arrival time, enjoy a short city exploration or relax after your international flight.
Day 2 – Day 3 – Day 4 – Andasibe
Drive east through scenic landscapes towards Andasibe National Park. Afternoon visit to Vakona Reserve followed by an exciting nocturnal walk to search for frogs, chameleons, and night-active lemurs.
Full-day exploration of Mantadia National Park. Trek through primary rainforest looking for Indri, sifakas, birds, and reptiles. Guided forest walks reveal Madagascar’s unique biodiversity.
Day 5 – Vohimana Reserve
Before heading to Vohimana, we visit a beautiful wetland site. Daytime forest walks introduce endemic reptiles, amphibians, and birdlife, followed by a guided night walk in search of nocturnal species.
Day 6 – Antananarivo via Mandraka
Return towards the capital with a stop in Mandraka forest for wildlife observation and photography. Overnight near Antananarivo.
Day 7 – Ankarafantsika National Park
Journey north-west to Ankarafantsika National Park, a dry deciduous forest rich in endemic wildlife. Afternoon at leisure before dinner and overnight near the park.
Day 8 – Ankarafantsika Exploration
Full-day exploration including forest hikes, birdwatching, and a boat excursion on Ravelobe Lake. Evening nocturnal walk to observe chameleons, geckos, and small nocturnal mammals.
Day 9 – Ankarafantsika Wildlife Discovery
Another day dedicated to exploring different trails and habitats within the park. Opportunities to encounter Coquerel’s sifaka, mongoose lemurs, and endemic reptiles.
Day 10 – Antananarivo
Drive back to Antananarivo with scenic stops along the route. Overnight in the capital.
Day 11 – Antsirabe
Travel south through the Malagasy highlands to Antsirabe, known for its colonial architecture and cool climate. Explore local craft markets and lakes.
Day 12 – AMorondava
Continue westward through changing landscapes towards Morondava on the west coast. Arrival and overnight near the famous baobab region.
Day 13 – Kirindy Forest & Baobab Avenue
Excursion to Kirindy Forest, home to the fossa, numerous reptiles. Sunset visit to the iconic Avenue of the Baobabs before returning to Morondava.
Day 14 – Antsirabe
Return journey to the central highlands with scenic stops and cultural encounters. Overnight in Antsirabe.
Day 15 – Ambalavao
Drive south through mountainous landscapes to Ambalavao. Explore local traditions and prepare for wildlife visits in the surrounding reserves.
Day 16 – Transfer to Ranomafana
Morning visit to Anja Community Reserve to observe ring-tailed lemurs and granite landscapes. Continue to Ranomafana National Park with an evening nocturnal walk.
Day 17 – Ranomafana National Park
Full-day rainforest exploration searching for golden bamboo lemurs, reptiles, birds, and unique plant life. Visit arboretum areas and enjoy another night walk.
Day 18 – Ranomafana Wildlife Exploration
Further guided walks in different sectors of the park, including less-visited habitats rich in herpetofauna and endemic species.
Day 19 – Antsirabe
Drive back through the highlands to Antsirabe. Relax and enjoy the cooler climate after days in the rainforest.
Day 20 – Antananarivo via Ambositra
Return to Antananarivo with a stop in Ambositra, famous for Zafimaniry woodcraft and Malagasy artisan traditions.
Day 21 – Departure
Transfer to the airport for your international departure or optional additional nights and excursions.
