Daily Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo
Upon arrival in Antananarivo, you will be welcomed by your professional guide and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival flight schedule, you may enjoy a short tour of the capital city to discover the local culture and historical atmosphere.

Day 2: Antananarivo – Flight to Toliara – Transfer to Ifaty
Early morning transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Toliara. Upon landing in the south, we drive along the scenic southwest coast to Ifaty. This seaside destination is world-famous for its dry coral reef lagoons and its proximity to the prehistoric spiny desert ecosystem. The afternoon is free to relax on the sandy beach.

Day 3: Discover Ifaty and Reniala Forest
Today is dedicated to exploring the unique xerophytic ecosystem of the region. Your morning guide will lead you through the Reniala Spiny Forest Reserve to photograph spectacular Madagascar spiny forest wildlife, including specialized desert birds, rare reptiles, and massive, drought-adapted baobabs found nowhere else on Earth. In the afternoon, you will visit the local Tortoise Village dedicated to conservation.

Day 4: Marine Activities in Ifaty
Enjoy a relaxing day on the beautiful Mozambique Channel coast. You can go snorkeling in the protected coral reef lagoon to observe colorful tropical fish, meet the traditional Vezo fishermen in their wooden pirogues, or take a guided walking excursion around the local fishing village.

Day 5: Ifaty – Ranohira (Gateway to Isalo)
After breakfast, we depart for Ranohira as this southern Madagascar tour takes you through changing desert landscapes. En route, we stop for a guided walk in Zombitse-Vohibasia National Park, a transitional forest where we will search for rare endemic birds and groups of playful lemurs before arriving in Ranohira by late afternoon.

A full day dedicated to trekking inside Madagascar’s most famous sandstone massif. We will hike through spectacular canyons, discover natural swimming pools, and witness unique rock formations. Isalo is home to ring-tailed lemurs, Verreaux’s sifakas, and striking endemic flora like Pachypodium rosulatum, Aloe isaloensis, and unique octopus trees thriving among the cliffs.

Day 7: Ranohira – Ambalavao

We then continue north through scenic rice terraces to the lush Ranomafana National Park for an evening nocturnal walk.

Day 9: Ranomafana National Park Trekking

Day 11: Antsirabe – Andasibe Rainforest
After the arid highlights of your Southern Madagascar wildlife tour, we depart from the central highlands and head east toward Andasibe, the country’s most accessible primary rainforest corridor. You will see the landscape transition from high-altitude plains to lush, humid green canopies.

Day 12: Andasibe National Park Wildlife
A full day dedicated to dense jungle exploration. We will visit the community-led Mitsinjo Reserve and the famous Vakona Private Island. Our main goal is to search for the Indri Indri, the largest living lemur, whose haunting morning calls echo through the trees.

Day 13: Andasibe – Antananarivo
After a final morning listening to the rainforest sounds, we drive back to Antananarivo. You can enjoy optional visits to local craft markets and handicraft workshops for souvenir shopping.
